Dogs Information | New Law Would Restrict Behavior On WA Ferries

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

The Washington State Patrol is requesting a law to help troopers control inappropriate behavior on state ferries.

Sen. Kevin Ranker of San Juan Island introduced the bill Monday. It mentions smoking, spitting, littering, skateboarding and letting a pet off a leash. The misdemeanors on vessels or ferry terminals could bring up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

The Kitsap Sun reports ( ferries were left out of a law that covers other forms of transit, unless the behavior meets the definition of disorderly conduct.
